NORTH BERGEN, N.J. -- Jeremiah P. O'Brien, 77, of North Bergen and formerly of Saddle Brook, died Thursday, Nov. 26.
Before retiring, O’Brien was a banker with Hudson United Bank in Cliffside Park. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was the cherished husband of the late Bess O'Brien (née Doumas) and second wife of the late Pauline O'Brien (née Hollingsworth); the loving father of Linda Hollingsworth of Saddle Brook; Nancy Frosten and her husband Stefan of Edison; Cathy Eichert and her husband Kenneth of Edison; William Hollingworth and his wife Rosie of Bergenfield; Suzanne Pappa and her husband Michael of Vernon; Debbie Ciuppa and her husband Joseph of Saddle Brook; treasured grandfather of Kristine, Erik, Matthew, William, Alyssa, Jeffrey, Aubrie, Ryan and Michael; beloved great-grandfather of Kailyn, Benjamin and Landon; dear brother of Catherine Fallon of Newburgh, N.Y.; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends from 4- 7 p.m. Sunday at Vander Plaat Memorial Home 113 South Farview Ave., Paramus. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m Monday at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, followed by an 11:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 488 Saddle River Road, Saddle Brook. Cremation will be private. Interment of the ashes will be at a later date at George Washington Memorial Park.
